The 2021 vintage was characterized by a mild and dry winter, except for a small
snowfall at the beginning of February. Since March temperatures have remained above seasonal averages,
favoring slightly earlier budding between the end of the month and the beginning of April for
Sangiovese, and from the first week of April for Merlot. The mild climate stopped around April 8-9
a considerable drop in temperatures which led to widespread frosts throughout Tuscany. Thank you
to their position, our vineyards have not suffered significant damage, the earliest and therefore the most
susceptible are found at altitudes where the risk of frost is less widespread. The temperature change has
However, it resulted in a slowdown in vegetative growth until the end of May. Since June,
with the consequent rise in temperatures, the vines began to grow and develop again
correctly, with flowering between the second and third week of the month. A hot summer followed
dry until mid-August. Thanks to two providential rains, the first of 45 mm on August 20th, and the
second of 20 mm on August 24, temperatures and hydration levels in the soils were reported to
optimal levels, in a very important period which coincides with the beginning of the ripening of the grapes.

a high concentration of aromatic compounds and polyphenols in the grapes.
TASTING NOTES
Luce 2021 has a very intense ruby ??red. On the nose stand out aromas of ripe black fruits
particular blackberry and mulberry, accompanied by delicate floral hints of violet and sweet spicy notes.
In the mouth, it reveals all its character and elegance. Of great body and balance, the silky tannins broaden
throughout the mouth leaving a long and persistent finish on finely spicy notes.
