PALEO RED
Made in 1989, this great wine is the symbol of the cellar and one of the most representative labels of
Bolgheri. Born as a classic Bordeaux blend, it will become a pure Cabernet Franc in 2001, conquering well
soon a resounding success. The name recalls that of a spontaneous herb on the Tuscan coast, to symbolize
territorial identity and stubbornness in reaching every goal.

CLIMATE
The year began with a mild winter followed by a short cold period and,
finally, a rapid rise in temperatures resulting in
budding on a large part of the vineyards. The entrance into spring is instead
characterized by two frosts in April and then continued with regular ones
rainfall until mid-June, with abundant development
vegetative. The summer continued with temperatures that were not excessively high
dry and very windy. The harvest was characterized by strong fluctuations in
temperature between day and night and hot days without precipitation, done
except for the last ten days of harvest when the first autumn rains occur
are presented frequently. The Merlot and Syrah harvest took place in
irregular manner between the first and third week of September (interspersed with
a few days off). In contrast, Cabernet grapes were harvested in
faster times also due to the first autumn rains, between the third and fourth
week of September.
