Rosso di Montalcino offers the unique style of Casanova di Neri in a wine with structure and elegance but easy to drink and with a strong connection to the territory. For us, Rosso di Montalcino is a wine of primary importance. For its production we use grapes from dedicated vineyards which receive the same attention and care that we place in those intended for the production of Brunellos. The uniqueness of the terroir is reflected in that of the wine which expresses all the passion for the land and for the vineyard and the meticulous work resulting from a long multigenerational experience. The strong recognizability of this wine is also due to our mass selection of Sangiovese.

Rosso di Montalcino 2022 manifests itself with a beautiful young and lively red. On the nose it is pleasantly fruity, with small red fruits and spices. On the palate it is refined and round, the tannins are in perfect balance with the acidity. All these characteristics give life to a Rosso di Montalcino of great finesse and complexity.

Winter 2022 was characterized by low temperatures and almost no precipitation. Bud break occurred in the first week of April, on average with previous years. Spring continued with above average temperatures which favored vegetative development and early flowering. May and June were dry with classic summer temperatures. The rains that arrived at the end of July and August allowed the vines to complete maturation in a balanced and constant way. The harvest began in the first ten days of September.

winemaking
Manual selection of bunches before destemming and selection of berries with optical selector. Spontaneous fermentation follows without the use of added yeasts and maceration aided by frequent punching down. Everything takes place in truncated cone-shaped steel vats at a controlled temperature for 18 days.
