The Chianti Classico Tenuta Perano was born on the hills of Gaiole in Chianti, from vineyards located 500 meters above sea level. The south-southwest exposure and above all the amphitheater shape of the vineyards favor sunlight and concentrate the heat. The combination of altitude, exposure, configuration and slope of the vineyards represent a qualitative uniqueness extraordinary, giving the wines a bright purple color, intense fruity aromas and great tannic structure, permeated of an elegant vibration. Climate trend Winter 2021 was characterized by a climate that was not too harsh, but with frosts and precipitation. The spring thaw e the increase in temperatures allowed the vines to germinate in mid-April with the Sangiovese thus starting their vegetative cycle. Spring, with mild temperatures, allowed the leaf surface to develop well with a wall very extensive and complete vegetative growth. The vines flowered at the beginning of June with sunny days and mild temperatures they favored a good fruit set. Subsequently, veraison took place a few days early, at the beginning of August thanks to optimal hot conditions during the day, but mitigated by good ventilation at night. Most of credit for the extraordinary vintage should in any case be attributed to the summer, which was particularly hot as well as being particularly hot characterized by two light rains at the end of August. The harvest which began in mid-September was characterized by sunny days and normal temperatures characterized the 2021 vintage, making it extraordinary for intensity of aromas and richness of tannins which the two summer rains have made soft and velvety. Technical notes Variety: Sangiovese and complementary varieties Alcohol content: 13.5% Maturation: 12 months in barrique and steel Winemaking and maturation Once harvested by hand, the grapes were vinified in temperature-controlled stainless steel tanks.
