The Bellavista Vineyard extends over an area of ??22.82 hectares, of which 9.30 were replanted between 1974 and 1978 and 13.52 were replanted in 2007. Here we have given greater value to the vineyard through terracing, which allows for better exposure and greater homogeneity of ripening. The vineyard is divided into 22 plots. In most cases, plots 1 and 19 for Malvasia Nera and 21 and 22 for Sangiovese contribute in excellent years to produce this selection of Vineyard. CLIMATE The 2018 wines will be fruity thanks to the strong day/night temperature variations of autumn which have favored the formation of aromas, they will have good freshness and a satisfactory alcohol content. The polyphenolic complement deserves a separate discussion: these are classy wines, elegant, powerful, with a good volume. In short, just the ones we have always liked. After numerous samplings and organoleptic analyses in the vineyard and in the laboratory, the harvest took place by hand in 10/12 kg boxes, on August 29th and ended on October 15th WINEMAKING The vinification was induced by indigenous yeasts and separated by variety in steel tanks at a controlled temperature between 30/33°, with manual pumping over with a total stay (cuvaison) of 22 days for the Sangiovese and 26 for the Malvasia Nera. After racking, the wine underwent malolactic fermentation in barriques. AGING At the end of the malolactic fermentation, the 2 varieties were assembled. The wine was then transferred to fine-grained oak barriques, 40% new and the rest used one year old. Aged for about 14 months.
