The Brunello di Montalcino Lisini 2019 presents a deep ruby red that refines over the years into bright orange. The slightly ethereal bouquet is of extraordinary elegance with hints of goudron, undergrowth, tobacco, violet and vanilla. In the mouth it is dry, but at the same time full and harmonious, firm and viper-like, consistent and aristocratic texture. In short, a purebred Sangiovese.
The Lisini-Clementi family has owned land in Montalcino since the 16th century. The first vines were planted in the 1930s, long before Brunello di Montalcino became the global phenomenon it is today.
Today the estate amounts to approximately 150 hectares surrounding the old farmhouse and the cellar, and the brothers Carlo and Lorenzo, together with their cousin Ludovica, continue the traditions of their ancestors. Not only the production of wine, which is based entirely on the noble Sangiovese vine, but also of olive oil. Their position, on the hills surrounding Sant'Angelo in Colle, in the south-west corner of Montalcino, is particularly favorable for the cultivation of Sangiovese. The 20 hectares of vineyards are located at an average altitude of 350 meters above sea level and open towards the south, towards the Tuscan Maremma, making them drier and more ventilated than other locations.
Brunello di Montalcino Lisini is a monument to classicism and tradition. Fermentations take place in glass-lined concrete tanks and all wines age in large Slavonian oak barrels.
