NOTES BY GIOVANNI NERI Cerretalto is the synthesis of intuition, passion and vision that has always distinguished the work of Casanova di Neri.
The mineral imprint given by the soil, the extraordinary concentration achievable only in certain years and only thanks to a Sangiovese with a small and sparse bunch, the decisive
human contribution of dedication and love for working the land and the great attention in the cellar allows us to achieve a wine of exceptional quality, personality and unique style
which fully expresses the territory where it was born together with our idea of the great Brunello.
All this has also been appreciated several times by the most important names in the international press who have awarded Cerretalto the highest awards: 100/100 Wine Spectator,
100/100 James Suckling, 100/100 Luca Gardini, 100/100 International Wine Report, 100/100 Wine Enthusiast, 99+ Wine Advocate.
2010 was characterized by a long, harsh winter and a cool, rainy spring. This trend led to a delay in the vegetative development of the vineyards. In June
temperatures aligned with average. The real summer only began in the month of July and the high temperatures together with the absence of precipitation contributed to a
excellent recovery of the vegetative cycle. Some rains in August together with careful selection of the bunches in the vineyard led to a perfect ripening of the grapes with a
extraordinary balance between sugar content, acidity and tannins. Bright ruby red, the nose is complex and powerful, with olfactory notes of red fruit, spices and a mineral vein
characteristic and unmistakable of this wine together with licorice, black cherry and violet mixed with graphite. When tasted it is very elegant, extremely long and persistent. Fills the
palate with great volume and excellent tannic balance.
A long-lived wine, to be served at a temperature of 16-17°C, taking care to uncork it at least two hours before and decant it delicately.
