PRODUCT INFORMATION

The best Sangiovese grapes, coming from a selection of the vineyards of the Maggiarino farm, one of the most suitable areas of La Braccesca, have carried out a winemaking process aimed at preserving the aromas and enhancing the structure. After destemming and soft pressing, the grapes were transferred to stainless steel tanks where alcoholic fermentation took place at a controlled temperature of 28°C; at the end of the maceration, which lasted for approximately 20 days, the wine was transferred to tonneaux, where the malolactic fermentation took place and the refinement process began, lasting approximately 12 months.

Historical data
Braccesca extends over 508 hectares where the ancient farm of the Bracci counts once stood, from which the name of the estate and its coat of arms derive: an arm covered in armor holding a sword. The total area of the vineyards is 340 hectares divided into two bodies: the first, of 366 hectares of which 237 are planted with vineyards, is located on the border between the municipalities of Montepulciano and that of Cortona. The other plot, 142 hectares of which 103 are vineyards, extends up to Montepulciano between three of the most renowned areas for the production of great red wines: Cervognano, Santa Pia and Gracciano.
Maggiarino comes from the vineyards of the farm of the same name, one of the most suitable areas of La Braccesca. A balanced wine capable of enhancing the fragrant varietal character through the silky tannins typical of the Nobile di Montepulciano territory, a historic Tuscan denomination.

Tasting Notes
Maggiarino 2019 has a ruby red color. On the nose, sensations of black cherry and ripe red fruits typical of Sangiovese are accompanied by spicy aromas of pepper alternating with fresh balsamic notes; hints of coffee and liquorice complete the bouquet.
On the palate the entry is rich and enveloping; the velvety tannins, supported by a balanced flavor, accompany a long and persistent finish. Notes of vanilla, coffee and liquorice characterize the pleasant aftertaste, giving complexity to the wine.
