A blend of Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino grapes, it is aged for about 24 months in Slavonian oak barrels.
Since 1981 this wine was produced as Chianti Classico Riserva and from 1982 to 1999 was labeled as Montevertine Riserva. Indicative blend: 90% Sangiovese, 5% Canaiolo, 5% Colorino .
It is our first-born wine, produced from 1971 to 1981 as Chianti Classico Montevertine and from 1982, when we left the Chianti Classico Consortium, simply as Montevertine.
