Fattoria Brena is a young project, started in the Tuscan hinterland. We are located in San Pietro a Dame, a small village located 700 meters above sea level. in the municipality of Cortona, between the Tuscan Valdichiana and the Umbrian Valtiberina. Giancarlo Bucci, author and creator of this project, after careful studies on the soil, plants only Pinot Noir. A heroic choice, which will bring Giancarlo the fruits of his choice, thanks to the attention he paid right from the start both in the field and in the cellar, minimizing the impact of chemical products and carrying out spontaneous fermentations. The “Sopra” is the pinot noir coming from the vineyard called Brena di Sopra. The grapes are harvested by hand and selected in the cellar. The fermentation is spontaneous and takes place partly in steel and partly in barrels, with a maceration of about 10 days. The refinement takes place for 3 months in barrique, 9 months in cement and another 9 months in the bottle.
