History
Montevertine was bought by Sergio Manetti in 1967 as a holiday home and, thinking of producing wine for himself and for friends and relatives, he planted some Sangiovese vineyards. The results obtained were already so surprising that he decided to send some bottles to Vinitaly in Verona and it was immediately a great success, certainly also thanks to the advice of Giulio Gambelli, the most expert connoisseur of Sangiovese at the time. From then on it was decided to get serious, Sergio will devote himself exclusively to the production of wine, increasing the quality year after year. The company has its own land at 425 m a.s.l. and is located in Radda in Chianti and only typical varieties of the denomination are grown, including Sangiovese, Canaiolo and Colorino.

Tasting notes
Intense and dark ruby ??red color, with garnet rim. On the nose a succession of very elegant and precious aromas among which we recognize ripe cherry, dried plum and raspberry jam and wild berries, with dried violets; intense bouquet of spices of black pepper, cloves, toasted, vanilla and arabica, licorice and dark chocolate. On the palate it is soft and harmonious, intriguing and with good bone; counterbalanced by hard components such as fine acidity, velvety tannins and a background of minerality. The finish is once again a symphony of elegance, with hints of ripe fruit and very long spices.
