The historic and charming winery is located in Palazzo Ricci in the center of Montepulciano and is today owned by the Trabalzini family. The wine comes from vineyards located on the hills near Podere La Croce (300 m above sea level) on the eastern side of Montepulciano.
The wine is produced from Sangiovese grapes with a small addition of Merlot, which are partially pressed, and then vinified in steel vats at a controlled temperature with a maceration on the skins that lasts a maximum of 15 days. The refinement of the wine takes place in tonneaux for approx. 6 months, and then continue for at least 6 months in the bottle.
Lively ruby red in colour, the nose reveals aromas of violet, fragrant cherry, with light spicy notes. The sip is dry and savory, with rightly perceptible tannins.
Ideal in combination with rich land starters and stewed and grilled red meats.
