For many it is the younger brother of Brunello di Montalcino, for us Rosso di Montalcino is a wine that has its own very specific identity.
Coming out in the second year after the harvest, it is certainly the youngest wine of our production, for this reason it is also the wine capable of expressing the varietal characteristics of Sangiovese most of all, such as juiciness and great freshness.
Unlike Brunello, it is essential that the Rosso shows great balance and smoothness, which is why we tend to use larger bunches in order to have a lower tannic concentration and be able to manage it in a short period of time.
At the same time, the same quality level as Brunello is guaranteed by using the usual vineyards and a yield of less than 50 quintals/ha.
After aging for about a year in large Slavonian oak barrels, the wine is bottled and marketed.
In our culture it is a very important wine as it is the bottle that we uncork every day, not only for its agility and simplicity of drinking but also and above all for its great versatility in pairing with food, capable of giving to every meal joy and harmony.
