Born to celebrate 35 years of activity of Monte Rossa, with its name P.R. pays homage to the founders of the company: Paola Rovetta, pioneer in Franciacorta since the seventies and her husband Paolo Rabotti, promoter and founder of the Franciacorta Consortium as well as its first president.
It is the fruit of the passionate search for harmony between the breadth, structure and complexity of the reserve wine (35%) and the elegance, persuasiveness and finesse that characterize Chardonnay (65%). It represents the typical expression of the company's production philosophy aimed at finding excellence not only in vintage wines, but in its entire production. PRODUCTION AREA: Franciacorta Docg, Morainic Hills of the municipalities of Bornato, Brescia, Cazzago San Martino, Passirano, Adro, Iseo, Rodengo Saiano. CRU: 22 crus spread over 78 hectares of vineyards strategically distributed on the territory of Franciacorta. SOIL STRUCTURE: Glacial moraine in the hilly area Monte Rossa, plus some land sandy and clayey. VARIETIES USED: Mainly Chardonnay. CUVÉE: 65% wines obtained from Chardonnay of our best crus and 35% wine Reserve Chardonnay. FARMING SYSTEM: Spurred cordon 70 cm from the ground, guyot. SYSTEM SITE: 2x1 m PLANT DENSITY: 5,000 plants/ha AVERAGE AGE OF THE VINES: 18 years. CHARACTERISTICS OF THE VINEYARD PRODUCTION CHARACTERISTICS AVERAGE GRAPE YIELD PER HECTARE: max.: 95 quintals per hectare. SELECTION OF GRAPES: in the vineyard with manual harvesting boxes. VINIFICATION: soft pressing of the grapes with selection of the best part of the grapes for no more than 55% of the yield. Each cru is vinified in purity.
