The 2019 vintage was affected by a cold and dry winter which allowed normal development of shoots in the first week of April. Afterwards, the spring was rainy with lower temperatures to seasonal averages, especially during the month of May. These conditions led to creation of important water reserves in the soil and slow down the vegetative development of plants. The arrival of the heat and the absence of rain in the month of June favored the vegetative growth, guaranteeing excellent flowering, occurred in the second week of the month. The summer season then continued without any particular peaks heat, with some rainfall between the end of July and the beginning of August which guaranteed a healthy foliage system vigorous and efficient. The mild temperatures of September and a good level of hydration of the soil have favored a slow and regular ripening of the grapes, which allowed us to obtain perfectly tannins ripe, with high intensity and aromatic freshness. The grapes were harvested starting from October 1st, with an ideal climate: mild temperatures during the day and beautiful excursions at night. The perfect quality of the grapes has allowed us to produce a balanced, structured Luce Brunello with a powerful and tannic texture perfectly integrated. TASTING NOTES Luce Brunello 2019 shows an intense ruby red. The aromatic intensity of red fruits is striking on the nose, such as cherries in alcohol, red plums and oranges. which are intertwined with notes of tobacco and the sweetness of liquorice. On the sip it offers great pleasure, it is enveloping, lively, supported by perfectly ripe tannins they leave room for citrus notes in the aftertaste.
