Production area: Montalcino - Siena - Sant'Angelo hill overlooking the Orcia river, with a happy exposure to the South that allows it to be exposed to sunshine all day. Average altitude 300 m above sea level. Climate trend: Mild winter with minimum temperatures in January followed by rain in the second part of February. Cool spring with precipitation. The months of June and July were sunny with only a significant rainfall phenomenon. August with temperatures usual for the seasonal average. Thanks to the accumulated water reserves and the temperatures that did not reach excessively high peaks, the foliage remained almost intact and efficient. All this allowed a slow and homogeneous ripening of the grapes, optimal for obtaining perfect phenolic and technological maturity. Grapes with which it is produced: Particular clones of Sangiovese, selected by Col d'Orcia. Manual harvest, with rigorous selection of the best bunches in the vineyard and subsequently on the sorting table in the cellar. Maximum yield foreseen by the production specifications: 80 q/ha. 2019 Harvest Yield: 69 q/ha. Vinification: Fermentation on the skins for 18-20 days, at a controlled temperature below 28° C, in 150 hl low and wide steel tanks, specially designed to effectively but delicately extract tannins and color. Aging: 4 years of which 32 months in Allier and Slavonian oak barrels with a capacity of 25 - 50 and 75 hl and subsequent refinement in the bottle for at least 12 months in rooms at a controlled temperature. Color: Intense ruby ??red, with garnet reflections. Aroma: The broad and complex bouquet highlights delicate scents that lead back to small ripe red fruits, such as cherry and blackberry, well integrated with the woody and vanilla notes released by the long aging in wood. Taste: The taste is full, full-bodied and balanced. A wine with excellent structure, with an enveloping tannic texture that announces a fruity and persistent finish. The aftertaste, enhanced by a good flavor, brings back to the olfactory components described above. Alcohol: 14.5% Total acidity: 5.8 g/l
