Tenuta Nuova was born from an innovative vineyard project planted in an area south-east of Montalcino never experienced before and represents the desire to produce a Brunello with great personality: structure, finesse, quantity and quality of tannins, length, drinkability and potential of ageing. The soil, the microclimate and the botanical realities typical of the Mediterranean scrub that surround the vineyards are the perfect demonstration of the exceptional nature of the Tenuta Nuova terroir. A well recognizable wine, awarded by the most important opinion leaders in the world: Wine of the Year for Wine Spectator, 100/100 Robert Parker, 100/100 James Suckling are just the most significant examples.

Tenuta Nuova 2018 shows a young and intense ruby ??red. The nose expresses notes of small ripe red fruits and its inevitable balsamic note. On the palate it is striking for its great complexity: it is rich and delicate, enveloping and sapid. The finish, fascinating and long, portends a great future.

2018 was characterized by a very cold winter, in which the cold temperatures led to a delay in budding of about a week compared to the average of previous years. Spring was characterized by abundant rainfall. Flowering took place in the last week of May. The summer, initially cool, continued with higher temperatures in the months of June and July without ever reaching excessive peaks. The strong temperature variations between day and night in the days preceding the harvest favored a slow and constant ripening of the grapes.

Manual, September 2018
winemaking
Manual selection of the bunches before destemming and selection of the berries with an optical selector. This is followed by fermentation without the use of added yeasts, maceration assisted by frequent punching down. All this takes place in truncated conical steel vats at a controlled temperature for 24 days.
