The Brunello di Montalcino from the Le Chiuse winery is an elegant and intense red, made with Sangiovese Grosso, a particular clone typical of the Montalcino area. Always a land of extraordinary reds, the famous hill of Montalcino is one of the areas of Italy best known in the world for the quality of its wines. This prestigious label is no exception, which ranks among the most interesting interpretations of the territory, in the name of absolute typicality and fidelity to tradition. The varietal aromas of Sangiovese are enriched with refined evolutionary notes, which make the wine extremely complex and profound.
The Brunello di Montalcino Le Chiuse was born in an ancient farm in Montalcino. The Le Chiuse estate became part of the possessions of the Biondi Santi family in 1700, as a property destined for vineyards, olive groves and arable land. Today of the total 18 hectares, 8 are destined for Sangiovese Grosso vineyards, all created with massal selections of vines from the famous Il Greppo estate. Le Chiuse is located on the north, north-east side of the Montalcino hill at an altitude between 330 and 500 meters above sea level. The particularly suitable soils, thanks to the presence of clays, galestro and tuff and the cool and breezy climate, are the secrets that underlie this great wine. Thanks to the considerable temperature variations between day and night, the grapes ripen slowly with an aromatic endowment of great elegance and finesse. In the vineyard, the principles of organic agriculture are applied, with the aim of preserving a healthy balance with the natural biodiversity of the places.
The Brunello di Montalcino wine produced by Le Chiuse comes from painstaking work in the vineyard, with a selection of the best bunches. Fermentation takes place in stainless steel tanks with indigenous yeasts and lasts about three weeks. The wine ages for 36 months in oak barriques and finishes its refinement process in the bottle. It has a bright garnet color. The nose recalls fragrant aromas of cherry, small red berries, hints of wild herbs and delicately spicy nuances. The sip is elegant, long and deep, with a complex, persistent center of the mouth and a fine tannic texture. The pleasantly refreshing finish. A great Brunello to be tasted on special occasions.
