Brunello di Montalcino Il Marroneto is one of the reference labels of the Montalcino area, among the most loved by connoisseurs. Son of a particularly suitable terroir and made with passion and craftsmanship, it is one of the most interesting expressions of pure Sangiovese grosso. Capable of combining intensity and elegance, complexity and smoothness, it surprises with stylistic precision and longevity. It is a prestigious bottle, to be brought to the table on a special evening and to be enjoyed with a sliced Chianina steak or roasted game.
The Marroneto Brunello di Montalcino was born in the area north of the village of Montalcino, in the locality of Madonna delle Grazie. The estate extends over 6 hectares, with old terraced vineyards, which give high quality grapes. The wines are only among the best excellences of the denomination, characterized by an elegant and always impeccable style. The Sangiovese Grosso vineyards are located at an altitude of about 400 meters and are cultivated on soils mainly made up of sands of ancient marine origin, rich in mineral elements. At the end of the harvesting operations, the grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks at a controlled temperature, with maceration on the skins for a dozen days. The wine ages in large oak barrels for 39 months and ends the refinement period in the bottle, leaving the company cellars 5 years after the harvest.
The Brunello from the Il Marroneto winery is a wine of great charm, which is part of the elite of the best labels of the appellation. In the glass it has a beautiful garnet red color, lively and bright. The olfactory profile is refined and intense, with floral aromas of violets, morello cherries, small red berries, spicy hints, undergrowth notes, leather, licorice root, aromatic herbs of the Mediterranean and balsamic scrub. On the palate it is elegant, with delicate, complex aromas and a dense and velvety tannic texture, which harmoniously envelops the sip, accompanying it towards a very fresh and persistent finish. An absolutely unmissable Brunello, which reaches full expressive maturity after a few years of aging in the cellar.
