This vineyard is located on the eastern side of Montalcino, at an altitude of between 280-310 meters above sea level. Facing east, the soil is of the type: "Marine deposits of the Pliocene", clayey soils with silty sands and yellowish brown sandstones, with medium-fine grain, intercalated with thin levels of conglomerates residues of Pietraforte. Grape variety Sangiovese 100% Plant density 4,500 plants/hectare Production per hectare 6,000 kg of grapes Harvest The grapes are hand-picked at the beginning of October Vinification and Aging The alcoholic fermentation takes place in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature, the maceration times are: two days of cold maceration at 10°C and 10-12 days at 25-28°C during and after fermentation. The malolactic fermentation takes place in concrete vats. The wine is then aged for the first 12 months in barriques and tonneaux, then 12/16 months in 20-30 HL oak barrels. Finally, it is aged in the bottle for 22 months. Bottles produced 3,000 Alcohol 14.5% Sensory Characteristics The color is ruby ??red with shades tending to garnet. The intense, fine and complex aroma develops on notes of morello cherry enriched by a background of spices, mainly cinnamon and cloves. On the palate, an initial tactile phase in which you can appreciate structure, fullness and softness, is followed by a persistent finish thanks to a dense and silky tannic texture, and a harmonious return of the retro-olfactory notes. The Reserve represents the best expression of the Le Lucére vineyard, selected during the barrel aging and produced only in excellent years.
