of the climate of Bolgheri. recognized by an intense color, the nose stands out the scent of ripe red fruits and
spices. Rich and round, with a velvety tannic structure that covers the palate, this wine combines a
immediate pleasure and an extraordinary capacity for aging ".

THE CLIMATE OF 2016
In the wake of what seems to have increasingly become the norm, the winter of 2016 was too
characterized by an unusually warm climate with abundant rains in February. The budding had
beginning the last week of March.
The abundance of water in the soil and the warm climate in April favored rapid vegetative development and
normal screw. By May, temperatures returned to normal, slowing growth and
favoring flowering, which took place in the last week of May, a period characterized by a dry climate and
sunny, perfect for a good fruit set phase. The summer was mostly characterized by a poor one
rainfall which caused considerable water stress towards the end of the duration phase. Even thunderstorms that
usually accompany the month of August are missing, causing the drought to characterize the first part
of the collection period. Fortunately, the temperatures, much cooler during the night, have
allowed the vines to recover from the heat of the day. The maturation continued regularly, conferring
to grapes an extraordinary phenolic and a balanced sugar / acidity ratio. The harvest began on
24 August with the youngest Merlot vineyards.
