Classification:
Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG Riserva
Vinification:
The Sangiovese grapes from the Santa Pia vineyard were harvested around mid-October
strictly by hand. After destemming and a soft pressing of the berries, the must was
introduced into stainless steel tanks where the alcoholic fermentation took place at a
controlled temperature to preserve the characteristic aromas of Sangiovese. The maceration is
continued for a further 20 days, at the end of which the wine was transferred to 500-litre tonneaux
for carrying out the malolactic fermentation and subsequently the maturation in wood,
lasting about 12 months. The bottling was followed by a period of 20 months of aging in
bottle.
