Petrucci was born in 2001, it is the "Grand Cru" symbol of
Podere Forte and maximum expression of philosophy
company that aims for very high production
quality, selecting the best plots.
The excellence that tends... to the Unicum, told by
our vineyards.
The Melo vineyard was born in 2003; which dominates from above
the entire property. The vineyard enjoys a soil and a
unique microclimate and was created with obsessive care
in every detail.
GRAPE VARIETY: Sangiovese 100%
SURFACE: 0.9 ha
TYPE OF SOIL: Crackable shale
outcropping, with the presence of clay
ALTITUDE: 507 – 541 m above sea level
EXPOSURE: south - west
WINEMAKING: vineyard planted with 6,250 vines per
hectare, trained as a tree in the wall and cordon, worked
organically and with biodynamic practices.
HARVEST: the fruits are collected in small boxes
of 15 Kg. A rigorous manual selection follows
bunch and an optical selection of the berries
VINIFICATION careful spontaneous fermentations in
a 50 quintal vat of French oak at 27 - 30° C.
Vinified as the only Cru with contact times on
peels up to 35 days.
AGING: in 228 French oak barriques
lt and 600lt tonneau, first and second passage for
18 - 20 months. Spontaneous malolactic fermentation.
ASSEMBLY: in vitrified concrete tanks.
BOTTLE AGING: chosen in relation
per year, minimum 12 months.
ALCOHOL CONTENT: 15% vol.
SERVING TEMPERATURE: 15°/16°
