MESSORIO
Born in 1994, Messorio is a personal challenge with one of the most widespread varieties in the Bolgheri area, on the Tuscan coast and
in the world: Merlot. The idea, right from the start, was to transform the best bunches into a wine of great impact and
personality, moving away as much as possible from the scheme that would like it to be docile and predictable but making it, al
on the contrary, a thoroughbred horse that does not give up pawing. The name is linked to the period of harvest and of
harvesting, a fundamental step in every agricultural activity.

CLIMATE
The year began with a mild winter followed by a short cold period and,
finally, a rapid rise in temperatures resulting in
bud break in a good part of the vineyards. The entry into spring is
instead characterized by two frosts in April and then continued with
regular rainfall until mid-June, with abundant development
vegetative. The summer continued with temperatures that were not excessively high
dry and very windy. The harvest was characterized by strong fluctuations in
temperature between day and night and hot days without precipitation, done
except for the last ten days of harvest when the first autumn rains occur
are presented frequently. The Merlot and Syrah harvest took place in
irregular manner between the first and third week of September (interspersed with
a few days off). In contrast, Cabernet grapes were harvested in
faster times also due to the first autumn rains, between the third and fourth
week of September.
