Guardiavigna is the expression of Podere Forte best terroirs, within a precious cuvée which embraces the thick pattern and
structure of Cabernet Franc, the kind strength of Merlot together with the complexity and persistency of Petit Verdot. The result is
a highly balanced red wine, sublimely elegant and sophisticated.
GRAPE VARIETIES: 45% Cabernet Franc, 45% Merlot, 10% Petit Verdot
TERROIR: Calcareous clay
VITICULTURE: Vineyards planted from 7.000 to 10.000 vines per hectare, trained in Spalliera Guyot organically managed following the organic and biodynamic principles.
HARVEST: grape harvest is done completely by hand, property by property, passing through the vineyard rows multiple times until the grapes have reached perfect maturity.
VINIFICATION AND MATURATION: spontaneous fermentations in French oak vats at a temperature between 27 – 30° C. Separated macerations for each grapevine long 7 – 10 days for Petit Verdot, 18 for Merlot and till 30 for Cabernet Franc. The malolactic fermentation occurred in first and second passage
French oak barriques of 225 – 228 lt. where the maturation longed for 18 months before the final blend. Other 15 months of bottles follow before its release.
ALCOHOL: 15 % vol.
TASTING NOTES: red with purple nuances. The bouquet is richand complex with hints of small fruits and blueberries, spicy notes and typical balsamic. Dense and precise tannins, refined
and well balanced with acidity. Enveloping, soft and of great complexity. Persistent and mineral finish.
