aittinger signs an aromatic and balanced vintage Brut Champagne
The property
The history of the Maison Taittinger Champagne begins at the beginning of the 20th century. Led by Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger and his two sons, Clovis and Vitalie, the Taittinger house has managed to preserve its family spirit by producing champagnes with a distinctly Chardonnay style. Since 1 January 2020, Vitalie Taittinger has been president of Maison Taittinger Champagne.
The vineyard
The vineyards of Maison Taittinger Champagne cover 288 hectares of vines and include 37 different crus. This makes Taittinger the third largest vineyard in Champagne. The entire vineyard is certified in High Environmental Value.
The wine
This Taittinger Brut Millésimé 2015 is made from 70% Grands Crus and 30% Premiers Crus.
The vintage
A very mild winter preceded a spring characterized by a particularly cold period followed by high temperatures. A homogeneous flowering was favored by the strong sun and low rainfall in June, conditions that lasted throughout the summer. The rains at the end of August saved the vineyard and favored ripening. The grapes were harvested in mid-September in the cool autumn climate, resulting in an elegant vintage, which harmoniously combines freshness and fruity expression.
Vinification and ageing
Only the juice from the first pressing is used in the production of this vintage champagne, which is aged in the cellar for 5 years.
Assembly
Chardonnay (50%)
Pinot noirs (50%).
