La Grande Dame is the Cuvée de Prestige of the Maison Veuve Clicquot. And it is a tribute to the most famous of the ladies of the region, that Madame Clicquot who, to the detriment of everything and everyone, managed to create one of the most prestigious Champagne houses. Veuve Clicquot has owned vineyards in the best Grand Crus of the region since 1760. After all, Madame Clicquot knew that, to produce the best champagne, she needed the best grapes. And thanks to an extraordinary intuition, she identified some lots that turned out to be among the best in the region. Among these Verzenay, Verzy and Bouzy, used in the assembly of La Grande Dame. A sumptuous rose gold color, with light coppery reflections, this incredible Champagne is soft and full-bodied. Refined and fresh. The result of a long and slow aging in the Veuve Clicquot cellars, this Rosé is already good today but has truly incredible aging potential. The experts of the Maison are certain that, well kept in the cellar, it can easily evolve and continue to improve for over 15 years. Waiting for the right occasion to uncork it and serve it in combination with meat dishes, even savory ones, such as roast beef or lamb chops. However, it is also excellent with fish or vegetarian dishes. Try it, for example, with delicious oven-baked stuffed tomatoes.
