The presence of wine in the mouth immediately seduces: the texture is paradoxically concentrated and at the same time creamy. The palate, dominated by the fruit, is energetic and warm, gradually becoming deep on the finish. The overall feel is superbly intense, with a slight bitter touch, subtle and elegant at the same time.
TO THE NOSE
The initial hints of fresh almond and harvest open immediately to notes of candied lemon and dried fruit. The whole is complemented by darker smoky and toasted notes.
THE 2002 HARVEST
The spring was hot and dry, with no significant frost and nearly perfect flowering. Summer was marked by long periods of sunshine, regularly interrupted by cloudy and rainy passages. This ideal and unexpected climate just before the harvest compensated for the copious rains of August and the first days of September. The vines in excellent health and the dehydration of the berries helped to reach new heights of ripeness. The harvest began between 12 and 28 September.
