Enologically christened by all as the vintage of the century, due to the climate more than ever
perfect for growing vines, the 2019 gave life to a more immediate Ugolforte,
persuasive and long-lasting. The ripening of the grapes was optimal in every case
plot and the harvest took place within the canonical times, from the first ten days of September
until late October.
TASTING
"Ugolforte has a rich and intense aroma, in which fruity and
floral with hints of medicinal herbs and balsamic notes. The taste is full, remarkable
consistency, with tannins present but well smoothed accompanied by a constant acidity

WINEMAKING
This wine is produced from vineyards with an average age of 20-25 years, located between 250 and 400 meters
above sea level, in Castelnuovo Dell'Abate, in the south-east area of Montalcino. The ground is
poor and rocky, composed mainly of clay and tuff, mixed with sandstone and marl.
Organic viticulture is based on environmentally friendly methods, which allow for low
spontaneous and balanced production of the grapes, entirely harvested by hand and
carefully selected. The vinification is in oak and concrete vats with long
macerations. Aged for 36 months in 30 to 50 hl Slavonian oak barrels. The name,
“Ugolforte” derives from a famous brigand who led the people of Montalcino in the 12th century
against the Sienese occupation. Bottled in May 2023
