2019 was a discontinuous and changeable year from start to finish. It started out as an early vintage and it's over
as a late vintage. Due to a particular winter, harsh at the beginning and mild towards the end, budding occurred
quite early, while the initial vegetative growth was slow due to the little water present in the soil. In the
heavy rains and below-average temperatures slowed down growth in May, canceling out the advance
initial vegetative growth, until it accumulates approximately 2 weeks late compared to a canonical season. The beginning of
June coincided with the arrival of summer. Clear weather and high temperatures were the order of the day until the month of
August which, on the contrary, was characterized by cooler temperatures and some rain useful to replenish the temperatures
soil water reserves. This wavering trend continued until the harvest, which turned out to be one of the most
later than recent years.
Intense ruby red color with garnet reflections, clear and brilliant. On the nose it expresses the typical aromas of violets and small fruits
red. You can recognize hints of undergrowth, aromatic wood, light vanilla and composite jam followed by subtle notes
of intense, persistent, broad and ethereal coffee. It is a warm wine in the mouth, with a dense and full-bodied texture. The ending is long, with
well-defined tannins. Brunello di San Polo, thanks to the characteristics of the soil from which it comes, tolerates long periods
aging and improves with bottle refinement.
The elegance and harmonious body of the wine allow pairings with very structured dishes such as red meats and game
feather and fur, possibly accompanied by mushrooms and truffles. Excellent with cheeses such as mature tome, Parmesan
Reggiano and Tuscan pecorino.
It is recommended to serve it at a temperature of 18°C-20°C in wide-shaped glasses, to be able to grasp the bouquet
composite and harmonious. Uncork a couple of hours beforehand
