It is one of the rare pure Cabernet Francs from Bolgheri and Italy, dedicated by Marilisa Allegrini to her brother Walter and which has become the jewel in the crown of Poggio al Tesoro. In the microclimate of Bolgheri and in the rock-rich soils of the Via Bolgherese vineyard, located in the prestigious area known as Soprastrada, this vine, generally used to give elegance to the Bordeaux blend, finds the ideal conditions to express itself in an autonomous and absolutely original way.
The grapes are harvested in small 5/7 kg boxes and are subjected to careful sorting both in the vineyard and in the cellar, then they are vinified using the traditional method. The wine continues its refinement for 20 months in French oak barriques (100% first passage) and for at least 9 months in the bottle.
From its appearance, its great richness shines through, confirmed by aromas that see black fruit, pepper and balsamic notes of eucalyptus blend with harmony and depth. In the mouth it is surprising for how it manages to support this imposing structure with lightness and tension, resulting in it being powerful and at the same time agile on the palate.
Particularly suitable for juicy and tasty meat dishes, such as lamb, pigeon, duck, hare, stews and braised meats with red wine reductions. Perfect with the best selections of long-matured cheeses. Serve at a temperature of 16-18°C and uncork at least one hour before consumption.
