The Barolo di Conterno Fantino is produced with Nebbiolo grapes coming from the vineyards located in Monforte d'Alba at 250 m above sea level. After vinification in steel and aging in French oak wood, it is flavored with 40 days of infusion with over 50 varieties of herbs, flowers and spices. It is then decanted and, after adding sugar and alcohol, it remains in the bottle for a year. The color is ruby red tending towards garnet, the nose expresses an intriguing combination of typical Barolo aromas with hints of herbs, citrus fruits and cinchona. On the palate it is surprising and intense, with a sweet start and a bitter aftertaste. Born as a medicine and then appreciated as an aperitif or digestive, it is perfect as a meditation wine and paired with chocolate, but you won't go wrong accompanying it with blue cheeses either.
