ASINONE"
After years of incessant experimentation, we have identified in the Vineyard
"Asinone", the best qualitative potential of our grapes. The "Donkey"
represents the highest expression of our production and the most synthesis
accomplished between tradition, territory and oenological innovation. Obtained from
Sangiovese grapes, expresses a recognizable style and a defined character, but
capable of dealing with the trends of international taste.

in the best years and the
number of bottles produced
reflects the quality of the vintage
itself. average production
is around 20,000-35,000 bottles.
In the years it doesn't come
bottled, "downgraded" L'Asinone based on Vino Nobile di Montepulciano.
Variety In the best years, Asinone is produced with 100% Sangiovese Prugnolo
Gentle. In the others we add about 10% of Colorino and Merlot, products
in the new part of the vineyard.
Vineyard surface area: 12 ha. (7 ha. planted in 1963, 5 ha. during the 90s)
Altimetry: 350 m a.s.l.
Exposure: South/South-West
Soil typology: clayey-silty in nature with the presence of skeleton
Planting density 3,000 vines per hectare in the old part and 5,000 in the new
Harvest method: manual in crates
Vinification: fermentation takes place in "truncated-conical" stainless steel vats
controlled temperature with punching down integrated with pumping over.
Fermentation and maceration last 20-25 days.
Aging: 16-18 months in new French oak barrels followed by 12 months of
bottle refinement.
Aging capacity: 20-25 years
