Historical data
Muffato della Sala is produced with botrytized grapes harvested at the end of October - beginning of November, to allow the morning mists to favor the development of Botrytis Cinerea or "noble rot" on the bunches. This mold reduces the water content of the grapes and concentrates sugars and aromas, giving the Muffato della Sala a harmonious and unmistakable taste. The first vintage was 1987 and was made up of varieties such as Sauvignon Blanc (50%), Grechetto (30%) and Drupeggio (20%). Subsequently the composition changed up to the current one.
Muffato della Sala is a fascinating wine, expression of a unique terroir, with very limited quantities.
Tasting note
Muffato della Sala 2019 has a bright and intense golden yellow color. The nose is delicate and elegant: sensations of ripe fruit dominate, such as apricot, peach and citrus aromas accompanied by floral hints and clear iodized notes. On the palate it confirms and enhances what has already been perceived on the nose: the extraordinary balance between freshness and sweetness gives a long aftertaste on the finish.
