in Cortona. Moderately deep, clayey and silty, of Pliocene origin (3-5
millions of years ago) in Montepulciano.
VINEYARD DESCRIPTION
Greppo: planted in 2001; 282 meters above sea level; north-west and south-east exposure; cord
rammed; 5,200 vines per hectare.
La Selva: planted in 2000; 300 meters above sea level; southeast exposure; sapling; 7,158 screws
per hectare.
Le Badelle: planted in 2000; 375 meters above sea level; exposure to the east, southeast; cord
rammed; 5,882 vines per hectare.

VINIFICATION
HARVEST
The merlot was harvested between the end of August and the first half of September
VINIFICATION
Fermentation with indigenous yeasts in stainless steel vats at a controlled temperature
for 25-30 days, with daily pumping over.
AGING
