Sangiovese is produced by Capanelle, a farm located in Gaiole in Chianti, in heart of the Chianti Classico. 50 & 50 is a wine born of friendship. The friendship that binds the owners of Avignonesi to Montepulciano and Capannelle in Chianti Classic, and their common desire to aspire to excellence with their wines. It was produced for the first time in 1988, almost by chance: during a convivial dinner, the owners of the two companies for a joke with their wines, and to mix them the other, a blend of 50% of Sangiove and 5% of merlot we know today. They had created something truly unique. ORGANOLEPTIC NOTES In the glass it has a deep, dark ruby ??red color with purple hues. The nose has a fragrance of small red fruits, black currant, black cherry and cassis which then leaves room for harmonious nuances of sweet spices such as vanilla and sandalwood. In the mouth it is satisfying and never banal. Sweetness and tannins are perfectly combined in a wide, elegant and decisive gustatory symphony roundabout. Ripe fruit and spices return and afterwards its balsamic color of mint and thyme is released. The end it is long and soft. 2016 VINTAGE The balanced climatic conditions of this vintage, characterized by the right amount of all the elements, have us allowed to produce powerful, yet elegant wines. A mild and relatively dry winter was replaced by a spring cold and wet. The hot and sunny summer made up for the wet and cold spring. A cold September with northern winds allowed the grapes to reach perfect ripeness.
