Climate
2021 was a unique year in its course. The late winter was characterized by a warm climate, presaging an early budding. On the other hand, spring was characterized by rains, below average temperatures and a sudden snowfall; these climatic conditions slowed the awakening of the vine and consequently the budding. Starting from June, the regular climate and some rains in the July and August development allowed the recovery of the initial delay, guaranteeing the adequate vegetative growth of the vine and a contained growth of the Pinot Grigio bunch.
The third decade of August, characterized by some summer storms, allowed the Pinot Grigio grape to complete the veraison with the typical coppery color of the skin, concentrating the aroma at its best and at the same time maintaining a good acidity content. The harvesting period, which took place from the beginning of September, was characterized by mild and sunny days, making the completion of the optimal duration of the Pinot Grigio.
