The best Cru in the entire Cognac region is called Grande Champagne and in the heart of this Premier Cru, the largest estate is called Château de Fontpinot, owned by the Frapin family. It is undoubtedly thanks to these privileges, the constant concern and respect for the best traditions, that Domaine Frapin are today famous internationally. The Frapin family estate extends over 300 hectares, of which 200 of a single grape variety, Ugni Blanc, and is located right on the territory of Grande Champagne. No one can claim to control the integrity of their production as Maison Frapin can do; the aging of the spirits is the most important stage in the production of its cognacs. In fact, there are two types of cellars at Château de Fontpinot: the first is located on the ground floor, with a very humid beaten earth floor, which allows the spirits to round out and soften, the second is located under the roofs, with a very different, very dry, with changes in temperature that allow the cognac to breathe and let its more airy elements evaporate, what the inhabitants of Charente call "the angels' share".
