On the highest hills of the Chianti Classico, in the greenery of an ancient nature, beauty has existed for centuries
inspires excellence. Immersed in the silence of enchanted lands, inhabited over the centuries by the most noble
families of Tuscany, from the Acciaioli to the Samminiati, from the Pazzi to the Ginori Conti, Albola Castle honors
the most precious fruit of these lands, Sangiovese, in search of its purest expressions.
From Pian d'Albola a constellation of crus extends between ancient farms and oak woods, however
climb up to the highest peaks of the Chianti Mountains and create an extraordinary landscape
beauty. From the vineyards of Castello di Albola, each different in terms of soil composition and altitude
and exposure to sunlight, wines of unparalleled finesse and elegance are born, from
subtle and sophisticated nuances, aimed towards an ideal of harmony and perfection.
climate 2018
2018 was a year characterized by a cold winter, with abundant snowfall and low temperatures, followed by a spring and summer with a very
variable with sunny days alternating with days of light rain and violent thunderstorms.
The month of September, on the other hand, presented a regular character, characterized by warm and sunny days with a good variation in temperature
between day and night, which allowed for excellent ripening of the grapes.
The 2018 vintage is qualitatively good, with a Chianti Classico
balanced, with particularly fresh and aromatic notes, due to a
good acidity.
This Chianti Classico contains all the salient characteristics of the vineyards
of Castello di Albola. The Sangiovese grapes are harvested scrupulously and
vinified in purity in the traditional style of the high hill areas in the area
more suitable than Radda. The long aging in large Slavonian oak barrels
helps to underline their imperious personality, in which they stand out
the important minerality, the freshness of the sip and the overall elegance.
