With a very dark, almost inky colour, the 2016 Château Angélus reveals sensual and deep aromas of Lebanese cedar and bitter orange peel; the totality on an impression of great freshness and great tension. Shaking develops greedily, but without excess, notes of black fruit (blackberry and blueberry). Breathing this wine is like munching on grapes. The attack in the mouth is precise, dynamic, with a fleshy, velvety palate and creamy tannins. The wine, with perfect balance and far from expressing its full power, already expresses great drinkability. The whole is impressive, superb, and places Angélus among the exceptional wines suitable for ageing.
