DESCRIPTION OF CHAMPAGNE BRUT ROYALE RÉSERVE PHILIPPONNAT Champagne Brut Royale Réserve is the great classic of Maison Philipponat, the sparkling wine that perfectly embodies style and prestige. As the name “Royale Réserve” suggests, it is presented as a tribute to the ancient traditions of the Philipponnat family, already historically owners of vineyards, merchants and winemakers, among the main suppliers of Louis XIV and magistrates of the city of Ay. A Champagne anciently appreciated by the most prestigious courts of Europe.
Champagne Brut Royale Réserve is born from the grapes of the best vineyards of the Grand and Premier Cru of the beating heart of Champagne. This traditional blend is made up mostly of Pinot Noir (65%) to which are added Chardonnay (30%) and Pinot Meunier (5%). The structure of this Champagne is determined by the addition of at least 20% of reserve wines to the cuvée, carefully stored in chalk cellars and managed with the Solera method, which involves aging in wooden barrels for several years. Once bottled, the wine referments in the bottle according to the Champenoise Method and then rests on the lees for about three years. Only this long rest will allow this bubble to release evolved and mature aromas on the nose, combined with a masterful and powerful structure on the palate.
The Champagne Royale Brut Réserve from the historic and prestigious maison Philipponnat stands out for its impeccable balance between structure, persistence and vinosity. It presents itself in a bright golden robe with amber reflections, made even more elegant by a very fine and persistent foam. On the nose it emanates floral and slightly toasted aromas, together with nuances of red fruits, citrus and honey. The sip is delicately vinous, broad and structured, with fruity aromas and a long finish that reveals light notes of biscuit and fragrant bread. A high-level champagne, which the long refinement has made a masterpiece.
