Perhaps not everyone knows that 2014 was an excellent vintage in all Champagne and that, for Piper-Heidsieck, it marked a real turning point, with greater attention to the balance of the assembly that will mark an enological rebirth for the maison. 55% Pinot Noir and 45% Chardonnay from about twenty Grand Cru and Premier Cru, selected on the basis of their expressive potential and organoleptic complexity, are expertly blended to create a Champagne that ages its own yeasts for 8 years; incredible the fact that, despite the long aging, the perception is that of a Champagne, fresh, vibrant and incredibly generous in taste!
Bright golden yellow color with very fine and fast bubbles, the nose expresses notes of dried apricot and sultanas, citrus hints of cedar and bergamot and iodized nuances. Complex, savory, seductive taste, rich in the toasted hazelnut tones and greedy in those of pastry and yet lashing in the freshness that accompanies the whole tasting and leads to an endless finish of salted butter.
