TASTING NOTES
Deep and elegant garnet red color in the glass. The nose is pulsating and intense, starting with rose petals and sweet violet, then developing on ripe dark fruit and jam, and completed by cola, licorice, sweet spices and tobacco.
The tannic texture on the palate is silky, the sip is lucid, the persistence is long and the finish is impeccable.
COMBINATIONS
It goes wonderfully with game. Fabulous with braised wild boar.
CELLAR
In the south-west area of Montalcino there is the Case Basse estate, covering a total area of 23 hectares and belonging to Gianfranco Soldera and his wife since the early 1970s.
TUSCANY SANGIOVESE IGT “CASE BASSE”
It is vinified naturally, in oak vats, without the use of artificial yeasts and without controlling the temperature. Following this, aging continues for five years in large Slavonian oak barrels, and finally a few months of refinement in the bottle completes the picture.
It is the most absolute simplicity from which the greatest wines are born, and the Sangiovese di Toscana "Case Basse" labeled Soldera is the most striking example of this.
Starting from the 2006 vintage, it is classified as "Toscana Sangiovese IGT", with a view to further consolidating a brand - that of Soldera - which has no equals in the entire Ilcinese panorama.
Bright and toned, well-defined in every smallest nuance, precious in finish, deep and with character: it is a wine that will make you fall in love, and that you can forget about in the cellar for entire decades. It is a purebred Sangiovese.
