Barolo DOCG Classico is the overall expression of ours
hills. Produced from grapes from different vineyards, it is a
homage to the classic methodology with which wine was made in the past.
The Barolo DOCG Classico Massolino represents the synthesis of the different
characteristics that each terroir offers. We have always loved the
traditional aging in large Slavonian oak barrels to maintain
a more sincere and pure identity. Wide and variable range of perfumes,
surprising expressive evolution over time.
Soil type: medium-textured, tending towards calcareous.
First year of production: 1947.
Vinification and ageing: Traditional Barolo with fermentation and
long-lasting maceration in oak vats, at temperatures around 30°C;
aging takes place in large Slavonian oak barrels for up to 30 months.
This is followed by refinement in the bottle in special cool and dark rooms.
Notes: The classic Barolo DOCG plays a very prominent role for ours
company: with this wine we want to offer a bottle of the highest level!
Tasting characteristics
Appearance: garnet red with variable intensity in relation to the vintage.
Nose: the grapes come from different vineyards and, precisely for this reason,
they give a very wide range of perfumes that can go from
captivating spicy notes to the sweeter, floral and fruity ones.
On the palate: many sensations, we are faced with a full-bodied wine,
classic and well structured that does not fear aging and represents in a way
the important character of our lands is remarkable. It is advisable to carafe it and
drink it at a temperature of 18-20°C. It is best expressed when paired with red meats,
in particular game and venison, and dishes with truffles. Also excellent on starters
egg pasta dishes with meat sauces and risottos as well as with cheeses
medium-aged cows and goats.
